If you get an alert

Someone chose you as their Buddy. Buddy Abroad AI checks in with them daily while they travel. If they go quiet, or send their private emergency signal, you are told.

  1. Try to reach them: call, text, WhatsApp.
  2. No answer? Call their hotel and ask the front desk to check on them. The number is in the alert.
  3. If you believe they are in danger, call the local emergency number for where they are.
  4. Once you have reached them and they are safe, reply SAFE to the alert, or tap the button on the personal page linked in the alert. Their other Buddies are told.

If the alert was an emergency signal, do not mention it in messages to them: someone else may see their phone.

Buddy Abroad AI is a check-in service, not an emergency service. Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages from us.
