E-mail support@buddyabroadai.com and a person will answer, usually within one business day. For privacy requests, write to privacy@buddyabroadai.com.

Buddy Abroad AI is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call the local emergency number.

Check-ins

  • Check-ins start once you reply YES to the confirmation message we send to your number.
  • Reply with anything to a check-in, or tap "I'm OK". To pause, text "away 6 hours" (or "away until 9am") or tap Pause in the app.
  • Not receiving messages? Check the number in Settings, and that you replied YES. Reply START if you previously replied STOP.

Buddies

  • Each Buddy must reply YES to their invitation before they can be alerted. The app shows who has confirmed, and warns you if we can't reach someone.
  • A Buddy who gets an alert can close it once they've reached you: reply SAFE, or use the button on their alert page.
  • Buddies can reply STOP at any time to stop all messages.

Plans and billing

  • 14 days free once your number is confirmed (one trial per number).
  • Bought in the App Store or Google Play: manage, cancel and request refunds in your store account settings.
  • Bought on the web: e-mail us to cancel.

Delete your account

In the app: Settings → Delete account. This deletes your profile, trips, Buddies, check-in history and photos for good, and stops all check-ins at once. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is not cancelled by this: cancel it in your store settings.

Can't open the app? E-mail privacy@buddyabroadai.com from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days. See what is kept and for how long in the Privacy Policy.
